Before & After

01

Premium Cataract Surgery (Phacoemulsification)

Cataracts occur when the eye’s natural lens becomes cloudy, leading to blurred vision, faded colors, and increased sensitivity to glare.

– What is it?

Premium cataract surgery via phacoemulsification is a state-of-the-art, minimally invasive procedure designed to restore crystal-clear vision and reduce or completely eliminate your dependence on glasses. With over a decade of surgical experience and thousands of successful premium cataract procedures, your sight is in the safe, expert hands of Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz

– How it Works

During this micro-incisions procedure, advanced ultrasound energy is used to gently break up the cloudy lens, which is then removed and replaced with an Advanced Premium Intraocular Lens (IOL)-such as Monofoacal, Multifocal, Toric, or Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) lenses tailored specifically to your visual lifestyle.

FemtoLASIK Surgery – Freedom from glasses in 5 minutes

FemtoLASIK is an advanced, computer-controlled laser procedure performed by Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz to permanently correct nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism- offering you complete freedom from glasses and contact lenses.

A treatment shaped around your eyes

Every corneal profile is unique; therefore Dr. Saad customizes treatment parameters to your exact visual needs for crisp, high-definition outcomes.

Bladeless technology

Unlike traditional LASIK – which relies on a mechanical microkeratome blade – Dr. Saad utilizes ultra-fast femtosecond laser technology to create a precise corneal flap, offering maximum safety, comfort, and predictability.

How it works

Once the flap is gently lifted, an excimer laser reshapes the underlying corneal tissue to correct your specific visual error under direct supervision. The flap is then repositioned, where it adheres naturally without the need for stitches, allowing most patients to experience sharp, clear vision within 24 to 48 hours.

03

Corneal Collagen Cross-linking (CXL)

Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking (CXL) is a specialized procedure designed to halt the progression of keratoconus and post-refractive corneal ectasia.

 – What is keratoconus?

Keratoconus is a progressive condition where the cornea thins, weakens, and gradually bulges into a cone-like shape, leading to distorted vision, increased astigmatism, and frequent changes in spectacle prescriptions.

– How it works

Performed by Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz, CXL works by creating new chemical bonds between the collagen fibers within the corneal stroma. During the procedure, Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) eye drops are applied to the cornea, followed by controlled exposure to specialized Ultraviolet-A (UV-A) light. This interaction triggers a natural photochemical reaction that stiffens and reinforces the corneal architecture, effectively locking the cornea in place to prevent further thinning or vision loss.

04

Glaucoma Laser Treatment – SLT

Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) is a safe, highly effective, and pain-free laser therapy used to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Guideline-aligned first-line option

Aligned with landmark international guidelines (such as the LiGHT Trial), Dr. Saad offers SLT as a primary treatment option to help patients avoid or drop daily eye drop regimens.

Specialist assessment & follow-up

As a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist, Dr. Saad provides comprehensive pre-laser glaucoma assessment and post-laser monitoring to ensure long-term stability of your visual fields.

What to expect

Completed in less than 10 minutes under topical numbing drops with zero downtime, patients return to normal activities the same day.

05

Glaucoma Laser Treatment – Micropulse Transscleral Cytophotocoagulation (MP-TSCPC)

Micropulse Transscleral Cyclophotocoagulation (MP-TSCPC) is a non-incisional glaucoma procedure performed by Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz.

 – Who it is for

Designed for patients with primary open-angle, angle-closure, or complex refractory glaucomas, MP-TSCPC offers an effective way to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) while minimizing the risks and recovery time associated with traditional filtration surgery.

– How it works

As a specialist in advanced glaucoma management, Dr. Saad tailors treatment parameters to match your specific glaucoma type and target eye pressure. The microsecond pulsing mechanism drastically reduces post-procedure inflammation, pain, and visual recovery time compared to older laser techniques.

– An ideal option when

MP-TSCPC is an ideal option for patients with previous failed surgeries, high surgical risk, or those seeking to reduce their daily glaucoma eye drop burden.

06

Glaucoma Laser Treatment – Laser Peripheral Iridotomy (LPI)

Laser Peripheral Iridotomy (LPI) is a quick, safe, and highly effective laser procedure performed by Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz to treat and prevent angle-closure glaucoma.

– Why it is Needed

In eyes with narrow or anatomically blocked drainage angles, fluid behind the iris cannot pass freely into the front of the eye. This trapped fluid causes the peripheral iris to bow forward, blocking the natural drainage channels and risking a sudden, painful rise in intraocular pressure (IOP).

– How it Works

During the procedure, Dr. Saad uses a precise Nd:YAG laser to create a microscopic opening in the outer edge of the colored part of your eye (the iris). This tiny opening allows fluid to flow directly from posterior chamber into the anterior chamber. By equalizing pressure between the front and back of the iris, LPI allows the iris to fall back into its natural position, opening the drainage angle and safeguarding your optic nerve.

– Who it is for

This procedure is ideal for patients diagnosed as primary angle closure suspect (PACS) or narrow angles during routine gonioscopy, stopping acute glaucoma attacks before they occur. It is performed comfortably using topical numbing drops in under 5 minutes, with immediate return to daily activities.

07

Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)

Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) represents a major advancement in modern glaucoma care, offering a safer, earlier and gentler alternative to traditional major glaucoma operations.

 – What is it?

Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz is among the leading glaucoma surgeons to perform MIGS in Pakistan. Through microscopic, self-healing incisions, MIGS procedures enhance the eye’s natural fluid drainage pathways to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) with minimal tissue disruption and an exceptionally high safety profile.

– How it works

Whether performed as a standalone procedure or combined with premium cataract surgery (Phacoemulsification), MIGS techniques – such as Gonio-Assisted Trabeculotomy (GAT), bent anterior needle goniectomy (BANG), and goniosynechiolysis (GSL) – re-establish natural fluid flow through the trabecular meshwork. Under the expertise of Dr. Saad, this modern approach significantly reduces or completely eliminates daily reliance on eye drops while ensuring fast postoperative recovery.

08

Trabeculectomy / Glaucoma Filtration Surgery

Trabeculectomy remains the gold-standard surgical procedure for patients with moderate to advanced glaucoma, or when medical therapy and laser treatments are no longer sufficient to control intraocular pressure (IOP).

– How it Works

Performed by Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz, this delicate microsurgery creates a specialized, controlled drainage pathway that allows excess fluid (aqueous humor) to bypass blocked natural channels and drain safely beneath the conjunctiva, forming a tiny, hidden reservoir called a filtration bleb.

Advanced Anti-Scarring Protocols

To ensure the highest success rates and prevent premature scar formation over the drainage site, Dr. Saad utilizes advanced anti-scarring protocols, including the meticulous application of Mitomycin-C (MMC) combined with adjustable or releasable suture techniques. This tailored surgical approach allows for post-operative fine-tuning of fluid flow, optimizing target pressure control while minimizing the risk of post-surgical hypotony or flat anterior chambers.

– Individualized Post-operative care

Once the flap is gently lifted, an excimer laser reshapes the underlying corneal tissue to correct your specific visual error under direct supervision. The flap is then repositioned, where it adheres naturally without the need for stitches, allowing most patients to experience sharp, clear vision within 24 to 48 hours.

09

Glaucoma Drainage Device – Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV)

Glaucoma Drainage Device (GDD) implantation is a specialized surgical procedure designed for patients with advanced, complex, secondary or refractory glaucoma.

 – Who is it for?

Under the specialised care of Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz – a fellowship trained glaucoma specialist, this surgery provides an effective solution for the eyes that have not responded to eye drops or laser therapies, or those in which previous trabeculectomies or other glaucoma surgeries have failed.

– How it works

The procedure involves carefully implanting a biocompatible silicone plate beneath the conjunctiva, attached to a flexible tube that is inserted directly into the anterior (front) chamber of the eye. Fluid (aqueous humor) drains through the tube to the plate, where it safely disperses into surrounding tissue and is absorbed by the body.

– The Ahmed Glaucoma Valve

We utilise the latest technology such as the Ahmed Glaucoma Valve which features a pressure-sensitive valve mechanism. This mechanism regulates the fluid outflow – preventing excessive drainage of fluid and soft eye; while preventing underdraingage of fluid and pressure spikes. Following the surgery, Dr. Saad ensures a smooth post-operative recovery process to deliver predictable and long-lasting results.

10

InteaVitreal (Eye) Injections

Intravitreal injections are a highly effective, targeted medical treatment used to control and treat a wide range of retinal disorders—including Diabetic Retinopathy (Macular Edema), Retinal Vein Occlusions (RVO) and Wet Age-Related Macular Degenerations (AMD); performed by Dr. Muhammad Saad Aziz.

– How it Works

We administer these injections inside the eye (intravitreal) under highly strict sterilisation protocols. Before the procedure, the eye is numbed with anesthetic eye drops so that no pain is felt while giving the injection. These specialized injections deliver anti-VEGF agents, stopping abnormal blood vessel growth, reducing macular swelling, and preserving your central vision. When timely administered, the vision is accurately restored so that you may feel the visual clarity once again.
